Founded in 1966, Waterville Historical Society collects and preserves materials documenting the history of the Village of Waterville and Town of Sangerfield, New York and the surrounding region. It provides access to the collections through its archives, library, exhibits, programs, and online sites, and encourages the preservation of the area’s historic resources.

Be part of Waterville history

Visit, attend a program, suggest a program or exhibit, donate an item to the collection, research your building or family history, connect with others in the community and share memories of local history.

Memberships are available from Student, Individual and Family to Corporate and Life Members. Visit the Gift Shop for books, videos, postcards,  souvenir mugs and T-shirts, local maple syrup, and works by local artists and crafters. Attend a special event–the Summer Festival, Chicken Barbecue and Loomis Gang Country Tours in August, the Hop Dig in October, or the Victorian Tea in December. Host your event in the Barton Hall meeting room in exchange for a donation. Volunteers always needed and welcome!
